Matt Holliday removed from the game against the Royals

Matt Holliday was removed from the game against the Royals the Cardinals MLB Game due to a recurrence of tightness in his left quadriceps muscle Sunday. 

Holliday, who was the team's designated hitter against the Royals this weekend,  serious injury and left the game today in the fifth inning after hitting a potential double-play ball.

"It's tight," Holliday said of his quadriceps. "I don't know what to say. It's weird. I've still got plenty of strength. It's just that when I go to run hard, it kind of grabs. I guess I'll take it a little bit slower, see how it responds."

He said it will take couple of days to recover the muscle injury. 

"I think that's probably the plan," he said.
The Cardinals will begin a three-game series at San Diego tomorrow.

Holliday hitting in past innings was 349 with six home team runs, 31 runs batted in and 31 runs scored although he is only 3-for-26 (.115) in his past eight games played.

Ricky Stenhouse Won Iowa Nationwide Series Race

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. held off Sprint Cup drivers Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski to win Sunday's  NASCAR Race Nationwide Series in Iowa, becoming the first regular series to pick up a victory this season.


Edwards who won the Sprint Cup All-Star Race had finished Keselowski, he also captured the inaugural Nationwide for the Motor Racing event at Lowa in the year of 2009.

"I'm very happy for Ricky," Keselowski said. "It's good to see a Nationwide regular come out there and win a race. It's been a little while."

“Just to come away with a victory is nice; I’m relieved,” Stenhouse said.

Stenhouse took the lead from Edwards 233 laps in the 250-lap event at Iowa Speedway and held the only Cup driver in his first career Nationwide win.

McDowell was seventh and Herring finished 12th.      
          
Steammates Stenhouse and Edwards exchanged the lead several times down the stretch, but fell Stenhouse truly endless and Edwards for more than four seconds.

Oklahoma Foot ball player found dead

Austin Box 22, Oklahoma Football Player was dead on Thursday morning at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Box's body was sent to state Medical Examiner's office.

Police said he was found unconsciously on the floor in his home,  Paramedics responded and made a call. His death is being investigated as a drug overdose case. The investigation is going on, but incident report has released by the El Reno Police Department.

"He takes pain pills, and he's not responding to me," a voice on the tape told to police dispatcher.

"We're all shocked and heartbroken," Bob Stoops, the head football coach, said in a statement on the university's website.

Andrew Bynum suspended for Barea foul in 5 games

Ex-Raider Steve Smith pleads not guilty to Murder Charge


Former lineman who plays on NFL Raiders Anthony Wayne Smith pleaded not guilty to murder in 2008 shooting death against a man in northern Los Angeles County.

Smith, 43, who played defensive end the Raiders in Los Angeles and Oakland from 1991 to 1998 he entered the plea Tuesday.

It is one of three men accused in the murder of 31 years Maurilio Ponce, who was beaten and shot several times in Lancaster before his body was dumped near a poppy field.

Two defendants facing the same charge - 41-year-old Charles and 32 years Eric Honest Dewan Wesley White - also pleaded not guilty Tuesday.

The three men are scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing May 19
