Saina in Quarterfinals of Malaysia Open Grand Prix


India's Saina Nehwal recorded a comprehensive victory over Ayane Kurihara in quarter finals of Malaysia open grand prix  gold tournament at Alor Setar.

Saina will face real tournament test in quarters, she have to face Wang Lin. The former world’s no1, who is coming after 6 months break, drubbed Eriko Hirose of Japan 21-11, 21-15 in the second round. Now ranked worlds 75, Lin is targeting an Olympic berth. She knows the only way to that is to win all the tournaments. 

Saina is only Indian left in the tournament as the others six Indian men Parupalli Kashyap, Gurusai Datt, Ajay Jayaram, Anup Sridhar, Arvind Bhat and Anand Pawar lost their matches.

Kashyap, seeded 12th, who defeated Malaysian Chong Chieh Lok 22-20, 21-7 in the first round, however, lost to Brice Leverdez of France 21-17, 15-21, 18-21.
