When Nigeria was leading 1-0, they seemed a little more secure when their opponent was still looking for their first goal at the FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria gave a blow 33 minutes after Sani Kaita was shown the red card for silly activities and part-time defender of the greek Vasilas Torosidis. The ball went out of play and after some contact to Torosidis’gave a little nudge in Kaita picking the ball out of the game, Kaita rebel decided not only to try to inject, but the front and studded Torosidis leg. Even if the connection could have been much worse, the referee had no choice but to drive Kaita this extremely dangerous form of retaliation.
The pressure paid on 44 minutes when Uwa Echiejile redundant Dimitrios Salpingidis who shot and blew apart the Nigerian defender advantage Lukman Haruna is perhaps unfairly Enyeama. This paved the score 1-1 and sent the game into half greek confident and Nigeria needs a combination.

The 2nd half began with much more pace to begin with and both sides produced some half-chances to build off of in this deciding portion of play on the pitch.
In the 55th minute, Greece defender Sotirios Krygiakos latched onto a header off the corner only to be denied by a well-positioned and alert Enyeama, who continued to look confident.
In the 68th minute, Yobo did extremely well defensively to intervene on a Gekas’ headed attempt. In the 71st minute, the Greece pressure finally paid off when the unbeatable Enyeama finally slipped up. He spilled a rebound on a 25-yard lash from Alexandros Tziolis and Torosidis was there to poke in the rebound and give Greece the 2-1 lead.
After a spell of really open play, the last 15 minutes became rather condensed and Greece managed to hold on to the 2-1 victory.
Greece will be energized after coming back from a goal deficit and not only scoring their first goal ever at the FIFA World Cup, but also collecting their first ever victory.
