MLB Betting: Civil War Weekend

MLB will see Interleague play this weekend and amongst the games, a number of cross-town battles.

One of the most notable series is the Red Line Rivalry between the Chicago White Sox vs Chicago Cubs, with the Cubbies playing hosts at Wrigley — the Cubs are favored at -125 and the White Sox are +105 underdogs.

Jake Peavy goes for the South Siders and Randy Wells for the North Siders and both are right-handed.

The Cubs have struggled in their last nine vs. righties, going 2-7 straight up in such situations and in their nine games prior to Thursday, there were 3 Overs and 6 Unders.

In the ChiSox’s last 15 games (prior to Thursday) against RHPs, there have been 11 Overs, 3 Unders and a Push.

Chicago isn’t the only city seeing its two teams go at it, Los Angeles is seeing a similar series this weekend with the Dodgers hosting the Angels — the Dodgers are -160 home faves and the Angels are +140 and the Total is set at 8.5.

Joel Pineiro goes for the Angels and eight of his last 12 road starts have resulted in Overs.

Chad Billingsley takes the mound for the Dodgers and in his last eight overall starts, the Dodgers have gone 6-2 SU.

There is also the Battle of the Bay Area as the San Francisco Giants host the Oakland Athletics in a three-game weekend set.

Game 1 on Friday will see Tim Lincecum starting for the Giants and Gio Gonzalez for the A’s and the home team is listed at -190 while the road team is a +160 underdog and the Total is set at 6.5.

Lincecum has a relatively low ERA of 3.20 but in his last 11 starts, there have been 8 Overs and 3 Unders and Gonzalez’s last 10 games overall have seen 7 Overs and 3 Unders.
