The 23 year old Rafael Nadal had won four in a row at Roland Garros before being eliminated in the fourth round last year by eventual runner-up Robin Soderling.
Gianni Mina who is ranked 653 in men's singles, should have a short lived Grand Slam debut against the clay master Nadal. and will be playing in just his second professional match when he takes on Nadal in the morning. Mina, who will turn 18 years old in September, is 0-1 in match play after falling to Lukasz Kubot 5-7, 4-6 at Nice, France earlier this month.
