MLB Betting: Stephen Strasburg Debuting In Early-June?

MLB Betting: Stephen Strasburg Debuting In Early-June?: According to reports, rookie pitcher Stephen Strasburg could make his much-anticipated first start for the Washington Nationals in a home series against the Pittsburgh Piratessometime between the 8th and 10th of June.
Strasburg has been very impressive both in Double and Triple-A ball combining for a record of 6-1 with an ERA of 0.99 and 54 strikeouts in 45 and one-third innings.

Hopefully Strasburg fares better against the Pirates than other Washington pitchers have — the Nationals are 3-7 straight up in their last 10 overall against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Management is remaining mum on the topic but players in the Nats’ clubhouse are eagerly anticipating Strasburg’s debut.

“We had a little taste of Strasburg during Spring Training, but now the whole baseball world gets to see it on the stage,” said pitcher Matt Capps to MLB.com

“It would be exciting to be a part of it.”

“This kid is a monster. He is a special breed,” outfielder Nyjer Morgan told ESPN.com.

“I’m fired up that he will face my former team. I just want to see him pitch really good against them. He is going to bring an energy that we haven’t had before here. It’s something I’m looking forward to.”

The ball club is expected to make an official announcement within a week of Strasburg’s actual start date.
It remains to be seen how Strasburg will affect futures betting.

As it stands, the Washington Nationals are listed at +1,750 to take the National League (NL) East division, +5,500 to take the NL Pennant and +12,500 to win the World Series.
