Who Wins the 2010 World Cup?

There are a lot of so-called favorites in this year’s World Cup. Every time you turn on a preview show there’s another breakout team that somebody has picked to go all the way.

There are your typical World Cup “sleepers” and “surprise” team, but we’re going to give you four teams that will come away with the hardware in a month’s time. Lets be real here, there are 5 teams that are winning this thing, and if we’re spending our money on World Cup betting, lets spend it on a team that’s going somewhere right?

Spain 4/1 – The Spanish are heading into this tourney coming off a Euro Cup championship and three straight years of dominating international play. Perennial underachievers, the Spanish come into South Africa with a swagger never before seen in their country’s playing history.

Brazil 4.5/1 – No Ronaldo, no Ronaldinho, who is this Brazilian team? No uber stars prancing around in the tabloids or across Nike commercials? Guess what, this is BRAZIL. And this is the most talented team of no-names you have ever seen. They should be overall faves, because them missing the final would be next to impossible.

Argentina 6/1 – The Argentineans have the advantage of playing against ridiculous competition all year round, World Cup or not, and then get drawn into a tame Group B with Nigeria, South Korea and Greece. What does that mean? Cakewalk into the Semi’s.

England 8/1 - Here’s a team that never goes anywhere. I don’t think there is a team or fan base that can share in more heart wrenching disappointment than England. I mean, it’s bloody England! The soccer Mecca of the universe, and they can’t win their way out of a wet paper bag. This year, I think its the lack of expectation that is what makes them a great bet!
